Nominations Sought for Champion Children Awards

The state Council for Youths with Chronic Conditions is seeking nominations for the annual “Champion Children and Outstanding Adolescents” awards.  The annual awards honor several children and teen-agers that despite having a chronic health condition live courageous, meaningful lives and demonstrate concern for others living with serious health issues.

Robert Quinn, CYCC chair, and Jeff Woodburn, CYCC Executive Director, present a “champion child” award to a 2017 recipient.

The recipients will be honored at a reception with state leaders in Concord during the kick-off celebration for the Childhood Chronic Health Conditions Awareness week, which is Wednesday, November 15.  Veteran school nurse and state lawmaker Barbara French is this year’s honorary event chair.

“By recognizing and celebrating young people who successfully manage chronic health conditions and live meaningful lives,” said Jeff Woodburn, Executive Director of the CYCC “we are kindling a spirit that will grow in all children and adolescents.”

The CYCC is a statewide advisory and advocacy organization that addresses issues that impact the lives of children with chronic illness and their families.

Nominations should be submitted in letter-form explaining the attributes of the nominee to: Jeff Woodburn, Executive Director by e-mailjeff@nhcycc.org or call 603.259.6878.
